Dance Medicine Philly

Jaya Kava is blessed to provide nourishment for our local-area ecstatic dances at every local Dance Medicine Philly event — taking place weekly thru December at the Lithuanian Music Hall! See December 20 event description for a list of upcoming 2023 dances.

At Dance Medicine Philly, Jaya Kava offers Ayurvedic edibles + beneficial drinkables in the form of:

<>Kava Concoctions, Ceremonial Cacao, Golden Chai, Hot and Iced Intentional Teas to Hydrate, Soothe Tension, Open the Heart, Nourish the Soul, and Uplift the Spirit.

<>Organic and Vegan Seasonal Stews, Kitchari and Cookies, lovingly prepared by my partner, and DMP co-organizer, Richie Parrella.

Ecstatic Dance is a three-part ceremony: warm-up, dance, and sound-healing. Starting about 15 years ago on the Big Island of Hawaii, this type of gathering has groups now holding similar space in most major American cities. I highly encourage you to come for the entirety of it. There’s an Opening and Closing Circle, and so much goodness in-between. A real energetic journey experience to get present with what’s alive within you and move whatever needs to.

Dance Medicine Philly (DMP) is a non-profit organization powered by a team of compassionate humans, with all of the work done out of each person’s commitment to it’s multifaceted mission of healing, community, expression and connection. Admission to weekly dances never exceeds $25, and can be as low as $15 if you snag the Early Bird option :) PLUS: they LOVE volunteer energy so definitely reach out to @oraoracle on Instagram, if free admission is of interest, in exchange for helping out for an hour or two before, during, or after the event <3

It’s time harvest our connections for a sweet Sunday morning of dance and play! Join us this Sunday as we move our bodies at our new location: the Lithuanian Music Hall in Philly! It’s much bigger than our previous indoor space and easier parking… yay!!!

We are blessed to welcome a new DJ into rotation for our smooth Sunday groove. Meet Haj Ji, a globally minded DJ with bass inclinations. Reaching into the past and looking to the future, Haj has musical roots that run deep. Co-founder of Sub Swara, Freek Factory and resident DJ of Body Temple in NYC, Haj has a storied history of creating and DJing transformational ecstatic events. Mixing his own unique blend of Coyote-Space-Hop, International Freekbeatz, and other floor rumbling hi-djinx. Music of the soul. His current project Aazav, with partner Kai Altair, is a blend of celestial medicine songs and modern production.

As always, we love to have Jaya Kava sharing nourishing beverages and Rumi’s Kitchen preparing Ayurvedic food delights!
